Fountain Pens, Inks, and Paper

I have a number of hobbies and most were amplified while waiting out the COVID-19 pandemic. Fountain Pens – which started a few years ago with a Pilot Metropolitan and black Pilot ink cartridges – intensified into an obsession in 2020-21.

I currently have 9 pens inked:

  • Fellowship Demonstrator – Fine Nib
  • Muji Stainless Steel – Fine Nib
  • Hongdian Forest – Fine Nib
  • Pilot Metropolitan – Medium Nib
  • Kaweco Sport – Medium Nib
  • Lamay Safari – Medium Nib
  • TWSBI “Prussian Blue” Diamond 580 ALR – Medium Nib
  • Monteverde 20th Anniversary Innova (Carbon Fiber) – Medium Nib
  • Ranga Model 3 – Medium Nib

As you can see, I only have a mild case of the fountain pen obsession. However, it’s growing.

I’m trying to document my fountain pen journey-as-hobby here in the form of blog posts. Keep in mind that, while not necessarily new to fountain pens, inks, and paper, I’m still feeling out my preferences and will continue to mature and grow. If the pandemic has taught me one thing, it’s that with a lot of time on your hands, you can go deep in anything!
